The Provincial Government of Bukidnon had its annual Christmas Party at the Kaamulan Open Theater last December 18, 2009. The Party was highlighted with a dance contest with the theme “PGB Dances Modern Dance of Yesteryears” featuring the dance hits from 1960’s to 1990’s. Employees of all age were able to participate in the contest since it was categorized by age bracket. (60’s : 55 above , 70’s : 45-54, 80’s : 35-44 , 90’s : 34 below)

 

The group from the Provincial Medical Center and Provincial Health Office headed by Dr. Teresita Damasco was declared champion with a cash prize of 15, 000.00 pesos and gained the award for Best in Choreography. Performers from PTO, PASSO, PSWDO, PPDO, PGSO, PAccgO came closely as first runner up with 13, 000.00 pesos and received the award for Best in Costume. Participants from PEO, PAO, BENRO, VET and PBO got second runner up with 11,000.00 pesos while PGO Divisions, PEEDMO, SP and Vice Governor’s office received 9,000.00 pesos as third runner up.

 

The Christmas party was a very merry one and it was appreciated by Governor Zubiri Jr. who was amazed with the showcase of the PGB employees’ talents. He mentioned it was the first time that he has witnessed the raging performances and energy of the different groups, especially those who brought back the moves and grooves of the 60’s and 70’s.  

 

One of the best highlights was the announcement from the governor an additional P5, 000.00 each as cash gifts for the regular employees. It has been a tradition of Gov. Zubiri to give additional cash gifts to the provincial employees as a way of acknowledging the hard work of all the employees who have continuously dedicated their service for the constituents in Bukidnon.  

 

Another excitement was the raffle draw which gave 120 employees one thousand pesos each and other door prizes.

 

The Christmas spirit was also felt by the “Lumads” who were present during the said party as they lined up to receive cash gifts directly from Governor Jose Maria R. Zubiri Jr.
