The Provincial Government of Bukidnon graced the culminating program of the 109th Civil Service Anniversary celebration with a dance contest inspired by the music of the King of Pop Michael Jackson. The culminating program held at the Kaamulan Open Theater, September 30, 2009 was themed “PGB goes MJ”, which brought out a lot of Michael Jackson moves, music and style.
The culminating program gathered all the provincial employees with the chiefs of office, Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, Vice Governor Alex Calingasan and Governor Jose Ma. R. Zubiri, Jr.
The five-hour program also served as a venue to announce the winners of the different events and activities designed for the whole month of September for the teams to compete. The ‘Green Archers’ composed of the employees from the Provincial Engineer’s Office, Provincial Budget Office and Provincial Agriculture Office was declared the over-all champion and the ‘Purple Bulls’ composed of Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Vice Governor’s Office, BENRO and Provincial Veterinary Office came in second.
Governor Jose Ma. R. Zubiri, Jr. in his message took the chance to acknowledge all the provincial employees for their genuine service to the people resulting to a very progressive Bukidnon. The governor also expressed his sincerest thanks to the people for the trust and support given to him in his nine years as a governor. This is Zubiri’s last term as a governor but he promised that he will never leave Bukidnon and will continue to serve the province that he truly loves.
